Smart Massage Cover: Faurecia brings retrofittable premium massage to the car

Faurecia, a company of the FORVIA group, developed the Smart Massage Cover, an intelligent seat cover that can be retrofitted to almost any passenger car seat. Using the voice control now integrated into the app, various programs can be activated while driving which are in no way inferior to the massage functions in high-end vehicles.

Faurecia not only used its expertise as one of the largest car seat manufacturers to develop the Smart Massage Cover, but also implemented proven technologies from premium seats, such as pneumatic components or high-quality covers. With its slim, ergonomic design and massage programs specially designed for long car journeys, the mat leads to even blood circulation in the back, mobilizes the spine and activates the entire musculoskeletal system. This increases comfort and well-being. Back complaints can be demonstrably alleviated - this has been confirmed by the AGR ("healthy back association") certificate.

Voice control for massage management while driving
An app called "Faurecia Smart Massage Cover", which is available free of charge for iOS and Android users, allows the massage mat to be adjusted to personal preferences such as massage strength or speed.

With the revised app version, iOS users now have the option of starting the various programs via Siri voice control in addition to manual activation. This means that the massage can also be started and stopped while driving. If there are several mats in a vehicle, they can be identified with different names via the app and then controlled separately. These additional functions will also be available for Android users in the near future.

Premium massage: tested for safety
The massage system inside the mat consists of eight large, separately controllable air chambers. Depending on the program and individual needs, the chambers are filled with air. When the mat is not in use, the air chambers empty completely. This means that the mat is no longer noticeable to the user and poses no risk in the event of a collision. Faurecia placed great emphasis on safety during development and tested the Smart Massage Cover using methods that are also used in the validation of car seats.

The Smart Massage Cover can be ordered either via the Walser Shop or on Amazon. It costs EUR 299 and is shipped free of charge within Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
